8 Years in Allen, Texas: How InfusaLounge Became the City’s First and Longest-Running IV Therapy Clinic

Educational Resources for Functional Medicine, Advanced Diagnostics, Integrative Therapies, and Chronic Health Conditions

Melissa Chester, Founder of InfusaLounge Integrative & Functional Medicine, cuts the ribbon with the Allen Chamber of Commerce at the practice's location at 190 E Stacy Rd # 1720 in Allen, Texas, marking the milestone of the city's first and longest-running IV therapy clinic.

When I opened InfusaLounge in April 2018, Allen had no dedicated IV therapy clinic. There were med-spas that offered an occasional drip, hospitals that ran fluids on inpatients, and primary care offices that wrote referrals out to Dallas. There was nothing here, in our city, where someone could walk in and receive a clinical IV nutrient infusion in a calm, professional setting.

Eight years later, that has changed across North Texas. Allen has changed. Functional medicine has changed. And InfusaLounge has changed with it. We are still in the same neighborhood, still serving the same community, and we are now the longest continuously operating IV therapy practice in the city. For the full milestone announcement, see our official press release distributed in May 2026.

This is the story of how a clinical insight from inside surgical practice administration became Allen’s first IV therapy clinic, and how that clinic grew into a physician-led integrative and functional medicine practice.

Where We Started: Allen’s First Dedicated IV Therapy Clinic (April 2018)

The idea for InfusaLounge came out of clinical observation, not a business plan. Before opening the practice, I spent years inside surgical practice administration, working as Director of Revenue Cycle alongside surgeons across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. That role put me close to bariatric patients, and a pattern kept showing up: post-surgically, those patients were taking in fewer calories and significantly less fluid, and the dehydration and nutrient gaps that followed were complicating their recovery.

In 2016, I started looking seriously at IV nutrient therapy as a way to address that gap. As I told Voyage Dallas Magazine in 2024, the entry point was supporting bariatric patients at risk of dehydration and malnutrition from reduced food and fluid intake post-surgery. The clinical case was clear. What was missing in our community was the access point.

I opened InfusaLounge in April 2018 to be that access point: a clinic-grade space, staffed by licensed clinicians, working under medical direction, located where the people who needed it actually live. The Village at Allen sits at the center of Collin County’s daily life, and a wellness clinic that wants to serve a community has to be where that community already is.

When InfusaLounge opened, no other dedicated IV therapy clinic in Allen predated us, based on publicly available business records and city directory data. That fact still holds today, eight years on.

Eight Years and 5,000+ Patients Later

Since 2018, more than 5,000 patients have walked through our doors. Some came once, for hydration after a tough race or relief during a viral illness. Many came back, week after week or month after month, and stayed with us through symptom flares, hormone shifts, autoimmune work-ups, weight loss programs, and post-illness recovery.

The reasons people came evolved over the years. In our early years, the most common requests were the foundational IV menu items: Myers’ Cocktail, immune support, hangover relief, athletic recovery. Over time, the questions got deeper. Patients began asking why they were tired in the first place, why their hormones felt off, why their gut had stopped tolerating foods they’d eaten for decades. They wanted root-cause answers, not just relief.

That shift in patient questions is what reshaped the practice. We added advanced functional medicine diagnostics, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, hyperbaric oxygen, ozone, red light, and a structured medical weight loss program. The lounge stayed. The clinical scope grew underneath it.

The IV Therapy Landscape in Allen Has Changed, and We’ve Been Here the Whole Time

Allen’s IV therapy market today is significantly larger than it was in 2018. New clinics opened in 2021, 2023, and 2024, and the category has matured statewide. That growth is good for patients. It signals that integrative care has moved from the fringe into a recognized part of the regional healthcare landscape.

What hasn’t changed is our position in that landscape. No other dedicated IV therapy clinic in Allen predates InfusaLounge’s 2018 founding. We were the first, and we are the longest continuously operating IV therapy practice in the city. Eight years of the same address, the same medical direction model, and the same commitment to clinical-grade care in a calm, residential-feeling space.

From Wellness Spa to Functional Medicine: The 2026 Evolution

In February 2026, we filed the assumed name change that made the evolution official. InfusaLounge Wellness Spa became InfusaLounge Integrative & Functional Medicine. The legal entity, our address, our phone, and our team did not change. The name finally caught up with the work we’d been doing for years.

The expansion happened because the community asked for it. Patients in Allen, McKinney, Frisco, and Plano kept arriving with complex root-cause questions: chronic fatigue with a normal CBC, hormone symptoms in their thirties and forties, post-viral fatigue that lingered long after the infection cleared, gut issues that conventional GI workups had not resolved. Wellness drips on their own were not the right answer for those patients. Comprehensive functional medicine was. So we built the clinical infrastructure to deliver it.

The shift, in plain language: we went from a clinic that helped people feel better in the short term to a clinic that also helps them understand why they feel the way they do, what’s driving it, and what a longer-term plan looks like. The IV menu is still here. The diagnostics, the medical oversight, and the integrative therapy stack now sit alongside it.

Meet the Team Behind the Care

Care at InfusaLounge is delivered by a clinical team. The full team is on our About page, and the clinicians most patients work with directly are described below.

Melissa Chester, BHSA, Founder & Director of Operations

I started InfusaLounge in 2018, and my role today is operational. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Management. I keep the clinical floor running, the team supported, and the patient experience consistent with what we promised the community when we opened.

Phyllis Gee, MD, FACOG, Medical Director

Dr. Gee is a board-certified physician with more than 30 years of clinical experience. She provides medical direction for the practice, oversees protocols, and reviews the clinical decisions that govern how we work. Her training in functional medicine grounds the way our diagnostics and therapies are sequenced.

Triny Nguyen, APRN, Nurse Practitioner

Triny is the clinician most patients meet first. She runs initial consultations, prescribes IV nutrient protocols and peptide therapies, and manages our medically supervised weight loss patients (including GLP-1 protocols). Her clinical focus is hormone balancing, IV nutrition, and metabolic care.

Diana Alvarez, LVN, Clinical Operations Manager

Diana runs the infusion floor. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of New Mexico, more than seven years of nursing experience across skilled nursing, home health, and hospice, and IV/Ozone/UVBI certification. Her clinical interests include hormone health, the gut-brain axis, and athletic performance.

Stan Pierce, DC, EPIC Upper Cervical Care Provider

Dr. Pierce is a fourth-generation chiropractor, the founder of the EPIC (Evolutionary Percussive Instrument Correction) technique, and co-inventor of the patented Integrity Genesis 3-axis percussion instrument. He has more than 25 years of clinical experience, has co-authored research with Harvard Medical School investigators, and has been recognized by the NFL Alumni Association for his work on brain health. His staff provides EPIC upper cervical care on-site at our Allen location.

What We Offer Today: Comprehensive Integrative Care

The clinical scope today reflects eight years of patient questions and the answers we’ve built around them.

IV Nutrient Therapy

Our core IV therapy menu covers the foundational protocols patients return to: Myers’ Cocktail, immune support, athletic recovery, beauty and glow, hangover relief, migraine relief, brain and mood support, glutathione, high-dose vitamin C (with G6PD screening for higher doses), and a full hydration menu. Every infusion is administered by a licensed clinician under medical direction.

Specialty IV Therapy: 27+ Condition-Specific Protocols

Our specialty IV therapy menu includes more than 27 condition-specific protocols built for adrenal fatigue, autoimmune symptoms, fibromyalgia, GI conditions, hormone support, Lyme disease, POTS, mold illness, neuropathy, post-viral fatigue, PCOS, thyroid support, and many others. These are designed to support the patient’s clinical picture, not as a replacement for diagnosis or care from their primary physician.

Advanced Functional Medicine Diagnostics

Our diagnostics suite is what makes the work feel different from a wellness drip. We offer GI-MAP, DUTCH hormone testing, micronutrient analysis, OligoScan heavy metal testing, TM Flow autonomic nervous system assessment, mitochondrial markers, and biological age testing. These tests reveal patterns and inform clinical decisions. Diagnosis remains the domain of licensed physicians using validated workups.

Adjunctive Therapies

Beyond IV therapy, we offer NAD+ therapy, ozone therapy and UVBI, the ReFire-O3 ozone sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy in our hard-shell OxyEdge chamber up to 2.0 ATA, red light therapy on the NovaPod 2.0, peptide therapy, chelation therapy, and vitamin shots and injections. The full integrative therapies hub maps how these fit together.

Hormone Optimization & Bioidentical HRT

Our hormone optimization program is one of the most common entry points for patients in their thirties through sixties. We use validated functional testing alongside conventional labs to understand a patient’s hormone landscape, then build an individualized plan with our nurse practitioner under medical direction.

Medically Supervised Weight Loss

Weight resistance is rarely about willpower. Our medical weight loss program starts with metabolic assessment and root-cause work, then layers in GLP-1 protocols, MIC Lipo, and clinical follow-up. We also support related metabolic and blood sugar conditions in patients whose weight has plateaued for reasons that aren’t behavioral.

EPIC Upper Cervical Spine Alignment

EPIC is the technique founded by Dr. Stan Pierce. It’s an instrument-based upper cervical correction approach that we offer on-site for patients dealing with structural and neurologic issues including post-concussion symptoms, persistent headaches, and autonomic complaints. More on the technique on our EPIC therapy page.

Looking Ahead: The Next Chapter

Eight years in, the work feels less like building a business and more like stewarding a community institution. Patients who came in for a hangover IV in 2019 now bring their parents in for hormone consults. Athletes who came for recovery now bring their kids. The thread is consistency: same address, same standards, same medical model, evolved scope.

What comes next for us is depth, not breadth. We’re investing in our diagnostic and therapy infrastructure, expanding our clinical research literacy across the team, and building out patient education content (including this blog) so the people we serve in Allen, McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Fairview, Lucas, Murphy, Wylie, and the wider Collin County area can understand the why behind the work, not just the what.

Eight years went by fast. The next eight years will be equally rewarding.
