Meet Triny
Triny Nguyen, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner whose nursing career began in 2009 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. After more than a decade in hospital-based nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from George Mason University, she moved into advanced practice — and today she works at the intersection of two worlds: as a gastroenterology nurse practitioner in a busy North Dallas GI practice, and as the clinician leading individualized patient care at InfusaLounge Integrative & Functional Medicine in Allen.
That combination is unusual, and it shapes everything about how she practices.
A Clinical Background That Bridges Conventional & Integrative Care
Triny’s approach is grounded in her daily work in specialty gastroenterology. When a patient brings her unexplained digestive symptoms, her process starts the way a gastroenterology evaluation should: review the history, the labs, the imaging, and any prior GI testing, and consider and rule out underlying gastrointestinal conditions first.
From there, she broadens the assessment — to nutrition, lifestyle, medications, stress, and other potential contributors. In her words:
“I believe in combining evidence-based medicine with an individualized approach, rather than focusing on symptoms alone.”
That order of operations — conventional evaluation first, whole-picture assessment second — is the bridge between her gastroenterology practice and the functional medicine care she provides at InfusaLounge.
Gastroenterology & Gut Health Experience
Triny currently practices as a gastroenterology nurse practitioner at North Dallas Digestive Disease Specialists, where she evaluates and manages patients with digestive and liver conditions in a busy outpatient GI practice. Her day-to-day work includes reviewing laboratory findings, imaging, pathology, and endoscopy findings; developing treatment plans; managing medications; educating patients about their conditions; and collaborating with gastroenterologists on when additional testing or procedures — including EGD and colonoscopy — are needed.
In that gastroenterology role, Triny has experience evaluating and managing GERD, Barrett’s esophagus, IBS, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea, dysphagia, iron-deficiency anemia, fatty liver disease, abnormal liver enzymes, hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and other chronic gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
Her particular clinical interest is the relationship between digestive health, nutrition, and overall wellness — especially for patients dealing with bloating, altered bowel habits, reflux, and chronic GI symptoms, where diet, lifestyle, medications, stress, and conventional GI findings all deserve consideration together.
How Triny Approaches Persistent Digestive Symptoms
Her reasoning follows a consistent order — and every step of it comes from how she actually practices:
| She considers | Why it matters in her approach |
|---|---|
| Symptoms & history | What the patient is actually experiencing comes first. |
| Previous GI testing | She reviews what has already been investigated rather than starting from scratch. |
| Labs, imaging & findings | Her gastroenterology background gives her daily experience interpreting conventional diagnostic information. |
| Medications & supplements | Often part of the broader clinical picture. |
| Nutrition & lifestyle | Factors that can influence digestive symptoms and overall health. |
| Stress & other contributors | Persistent symptoms can call for a broader, individualized assessment. |
| Next steps | Treatment or further evaluation is based on the complete picture, not a single symptom or lab value. |
Hormone Optimization for Men & Women
Triny manages hormone therapy for both men and women.
Men’s Hormone Health
From June 2025 through February 2026, Triny practiced as a nurse practitioner at Men’s T Clinic in Frisco, a practice focused on men’s testosterone care. Her role there included evaluating symptoms potentially associated with low testosterone, reviewing hormone and laboratory results, developing individualized testosterone replacement therapy plans, and managing, monitoring, and adjusting treatment over time. That focused experience is the foundation of the men’s hormone optimization and TRT care she provides today.
Women’s Hormone Health
For women, Triny evaluates and manages concerns including perimenopause and menopause symptoms, fatigue, low energy, decreased libido, weight and body-composition changes, mood changes, and sleep issues — reviewing symptoms and laboratory findings, initiating treatment where appropriate, and adjusting therapy according to each patient’s response. She has also completed bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) training through BioPellet Consultants.
Her Approach to Hormone Therapy
“Testosterone therapy is not simply about treating a lab value.”
Triny looks at symptoms, laboratory findings, lifestyle, overall health, and individual goals — and then monitors treatment response over time, adjusting when appropriate. Hormone care, in her practice, is ongoing clinical management, not one-and-done prescribing.
Medical Weight Management
Triny manages medical weight-loss patients at InfusaLounge, including patients using GLP-1 medications within the clinic’s physician-supervised weight loss programs. Her monitoring covers labs, progress, side effects, nutrition, and each patient’s overall response to treatment.
Care at InfusaLounge: Treatments Are Tools, Not the Starting Point
At InfusaLounge, Triny is clinically involved in most of the clinic’s services — bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy, IV nutrient therapy, metabolic care, medical weight management, and functional testing. But she doesn’t treat them as isolated menu items. Therapies are incorporated into each patient’s overall care plan based on symptoms, lab results, health concerns, and individual goals — the clinical picture comes first, and the tools follow.
What Triny Monitors Over Time
Starting a treatment is the beginning of her work, not the end of it. Across her areas of care, ongoing management looks like this:
| Area of care | What Triny monitors and reviews |
|---|---|
| Men’s hormone & TRT care | Symptoms, hormone and laboratory findings, lifestyle, overall health, individual goals, and treatment response over time |
| Women’s hormone care | Symptoms, laboratory findings, and response to therapy, with adjustments as appropriate |
| Medical weight management & GLP-1 | Labs, progress, side effects, nutrition, and overall response to treatment |
| Gastroenterology care | Symptoms, labs, imaging, pathology and endoscopy findings, medications, and clinical response |
| Functional & integrative care | Symptoms, history, specialty testing, nutrition, lifestyle, medications, stress, and patient goals |
Advanced Testing Experience
At InfusaLounge
Specialty functional diagnostics including the GI360 gut microbiome panel, hormone panels, and micronutrient testing — interpreted alongside each patient’s symptoms and history.
In Gastroenterology Practice
Conventional laboratory studies, imaging, pathology, and endoscopy and colonoscopy findings — the diagnostic core of specialty GI medicine.
Comfort interpreting data from both conventional specialty medicine and integrative diagnostics is one of the defining features of Triny’s practice.

Philosophy of Care
“I like to listen to what the patient is actually experiencing and not just focus on their lab results.”
Triny wants patients to understand what is happening with their health and why she is recommending a treatment — and she builds plans that are individualized, practical, and realistic to follow. That extends to her own life:
“I wouldn’t recommend something to a patient that I wouldn’t consider for myself.”
She is genuinely interested in health and wellness beyond her profession — she stays informed, asks questions, and personally believes in the care she recommends.
